IM Events Cannot Take Place in 2020, $22.8M Loss
The IRONMAN 70.3 and full distance triathlons cannot take place this year due to a recent mandate from the City of Chattanooga. The result is in an estimated economic loss of $22.8 million to Hamilton County and the surrounding communities.

Hamilton County Hotel Data

  • In last 28 days, 50% occupancy on weekdays (Sun-Thurs) and 69% on weekends (Fri-Sat)
  • Overall, down 23% compared to this time last year
  • Hotel revenue: Month to Date (July) down 8% compared to same time last year (Down about $1 million)
  • Downtown specifically – averaging 50% occupancy; but down about 17% for July
